Students, families, and anyone considering a future in the electrical industry are invited to attend the 2026 CET Open Day on Saturday 27 June.

Hosted across both CET Jandakot and CET Joondalup, the Open Day will give visitors the opportunity to explore CET’s training facilities, speak with experienced trainers, and learn more about electrical pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship pathways.

The event will run from 9.00am to 11.30am, with campus tours and information sessions available throughout the morning.

For students thinking about a trade career, the electrical industry offers a practical and future-focused pathway. Electrical skills are needed across residential, commercial, industrial, infrastructure, maintenance, and energy-related work, making the trade an important part of Western Australia’s workforce.

CET Open Day is designed to help prospective students and their families understand what that pathway can look like.

Visitors will be able to step inside CET’s training facilities and see the type of practical learning environments used by electrical students and apprentices. Experienced trainers and College Managers will also be available to answer questions about training options, entry pathways, expectations, and how to successfully take the first step into the industry.

Campus tours will run at 9.00am, 10.00am, and 11.00am.

Information sessions will run at 9.30am, 10.30am, and 11.15am, giving attendees the chance to hear directly from CET staff about electrical training, pre-apprenticeships, apprenticeships, and the support available to students.

Electrical Group Training will also be attending both campuses. Equip-Safe will also be represented at the event, with information available about CTF-funded* apprentice training. This includes the Orange Card Combo, which provides nationally accredited training to operate scissor lifts, boom lifts up to 11 metres, and work safely at heights. The Construction Training Fund is subsidising 70% of the course fee for eligible WA apprentices enrolling in the Orange Card Combo course.

Whether you are a school leaver, parent, career changer, or someone already considering an apprenticeship, CET Open Day is an opportunity to ask questions, compare pathways, and get a clearer picture of where an electrical career could lead.
