The Big Dig 2025
ECA WA is proud to support The Big Dig 2025, an industry-led fundraiser for youth mental health through zero2hero. On Saturday, 25 October 2025, representatives from the WA electrical industry will come together to help raise awareness for this worthy cause, digging together in support of young people in our industry.
How you/your business can get involved:
🔵Community Trench (teams & apprentices welcome)
Form a crew (or multiple crews) and take a turn digging a 1-metre-deep trench by hand over the 24-hour window. It’s tough, raw and memorable—and a powerful show of industry spirit. Great for apprentices and emerging leaders to experience teamwork with purpose.
🔵CEO / Executive Symbolic Dig (zero pressure)
Leaders are invited to step in for a short, symbolic shovel, no records, no ego required. It’s a simple gesture that says: “Our industry backs young people.” Even a few minutes in the trench sends a big message to staff and the community.
🔵24-Hour Challenge (individual or team)
If you want to truly test your resilience, you can also register for the 24-hour digging challenge. Go solo or form a team and take on the full duration—an unforgettable way to prove what grit, determination, and industry spirit look like.
🔵Support, sponsor or spread the word
If you can’t dig, you can still make a difference by sponsoring a trench, sharing the event with your network, or encouraging teams to register. Sponsorship options range from Gold to Naming Rights, with on-site branding and activation opportunities.
